**Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

**Position Overview

**

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to support production equipment within a manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on maintenance position responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving mechanical and electrical production equipment.

**Slitting equipment experience is NOT required.

** Candidates with solid industrial maintenance experience involving CNC equipment, presses, material handling systems, conveyors, steel processing equipment, automated machinery, or other manufacturing equipment are encouraged to apply.

This is a first-shift opportunity offering $30–$35/hour plus approximately 10–15 hours of overtime per week, providing strong earning potential for an experienced maintenance professional.

**Key Responsibilities

**

• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems on production and facility equipment.

• Observe operating machinery and identify abnormal sounds, vibration, wear, or other indications of equipment problems.

• Diagnose equipment failures and determine appropriate repairs.

• Disassemble machinery and equipment to access, repair, or replace defective components.

• Repair and replace bearings, motors, drives, gears, shafts, belts, chains, and other mechanical components.

• Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repair on industrial equipment.

• Lubricate, clean, adjust, and maintain machinery as part of preventive maintenance activities.

• Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance.

• Assist with equipment installation, modification, and improvement projects.

• Use precision measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers when necessary.

• Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns quickly to minimize production downtime.

• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.

• Follow all plant safety procedures, including required PPE and lockout/tagout practices.

• Communicate equipment or quality concerns to supervisors and production personnel.

• Maintain a clean and organized maintenance and work area.

**Qualifications

**

• **2+ years of industrial maintenance, machine repair, or related manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.

**

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability.

• Experience repairing and maintaining industrial production machinery.

• Ability to diagnose mechanical equipment failures.

• Basic industrial electrical troubleshooting experience preferred.

• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, or similar industrial systems is beneficial.

• Ability to read basic mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and schematics.

• Ability to use standard hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.

• Basic math, reading, and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently while supporting production and maintenance teams.

• **Previous slitting or steel-processing equipment experience is a plus but is not required.
