Job Overview:

Help ensure that our facilities, equipment, and building systems operate safely and efficiently. In this role, you will be part of a proactive maintenance team responsible for regular inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs, while also managing work orders and assisting third-party trades as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facility & Equipment Inspections:

    • Conduct routine inspections of buildings and grounds to identify maintenance needs.

    • Monitor systems such as HVAC, heating, ventilation, and other building operations for potential issues.

  • Preventative & Corrective Maintenance:

    • Follow and contribute to weekly maintenance schedules.

    • Troubleshoot and repair both minor and major issues on mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC/R systems.

    • Respond promptly to emergency breakdown calls to minimize downtime.

  • Coordination & Administration:

    • Assist external trades (electricians, plumbers, etc.) during installations, repairs, or maintenance tasks.

    • Manage and track work orders using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for historical data and future reference.

    • Monitor inventory levels of materials and equipment to ensure timely restocking.

  • Team Collaboration:

    • Support and mentor fellow maintenance technicians, sharing insights and best practices.

    • Communicate effectively with production teams to ensure minimal disruption during maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • Experience & Education:

    • High School Diploma or GED is required.

    • A minimum of 2 years of relevant maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong ability to troubleshoot a variety of mechanical and electrical systems.

    • Experience with creating and following preventive maintenance plans.

    • Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with CMMS software.

  • Physical & Safety Requirements:

    • Ability to lift between 15 to 50 pounds.

    • Must be capable of standing, walking, climbing, bending, and performing manual tasks for extended periods.

    • Commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards at all times.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in steel processing is a plus.

    • Familiarity with HVAC/R systems, electrical repair, and troubleshooting techniques.

    • OSHA 10-Hour Certification is desirable.
