Description

Do you have a strong Maintenance background and enjoy leading a Team? As a Maintenance Lead, you will Assist the Maintenance Manager to manage maintenance personnel efforts in maintaining and repairing furnaces, equipment, and facilities to ensure continuity of efficient production. Potentially includes projects involving installation of equipment or alterations to the building and equipment. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the Maintenance Manager to schedule and supervise the Maintenance Department work to ensure that plant equipment breakdowns are minimized and repairs are conducted in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained and improved to promote the efficient productions of parts.
  • Assist with generating written schedules of work for all maintenance personnel.
  • Schedule a regular preventive maintenance of equipment to ensure uninterrupted production when possible.
  • Assist with the identification of all maintenance materials and supplies for purchasing and shipment.
  • Manage projects assigned and insure the job is taken to completion.
  • Assist with supervising the work of outside contractors as required.
  • Assist with the maintenance and updating of all maintenance files, including blueprints, vendor literature and equipment manufacturer's operating/maintenance instructions.
  • Coordinate the Maintenance Department work schedule with the production schedule.
  • Work with Maintenance Manager to ensure quality performance of maintenance personnel.
  • Provide for continuous quality improvement of equipment and tools.
  • Strive to improve the productivity of the Maintenance Department.
  • Ensure that all testing equipment remains in good working order.
  • Travel to and participate in job-related meetings, conventions, training, etc. Such travel many involve overnight stays of one or more nights.
  • Maintain and enforce good housekeeping practices and policies and enforce throughout the department.
  • Use computer and selected software as needed.
  • Assist as needed to accurately complete purchase orders for the purchase of equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure timely completion of TUS, SAT and calibration reports for all required equipment based on set schedule. Prepare and maintain all necessary testing devices for seamless testing of required equipment.
  • Maintain and organize all lock out tag out devices and train other employees in lock out tag out practices as needed.

Qualifications


Qualifications 

  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma Required
  • 3+ years of maintenance leadership experience
  • Strong electrical background and strong mechanical aptitude
  • 2 year technical degree strongly preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical and electronics, pipefitting, instrumentation, temperature control devices, and welding.
  • Knowledge of industrial furnaces and material handling equipment preferred
  • Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies at the plant during off hours

License/Certification required: 

  • Must be able to obtain forklift certification
