Job Overview:

About the Role:

The Industrial Maintenance Electrician on the 3rd shift plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and electrical systems within the facility. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical components to minimize downtime and support production goals during overnight hours. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential electrical issues and implementing preventative maintenance strategies to enhance equipment reliability. The electrician will collaborate closely with maintenance teams and production staff to address urgent repairs and optimize system performance. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to maintaining a safe, compliant, and productive manufacturing environment during the 3rd shift.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • You're familiar with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) or similar programs.
  • You possess a strong understanding of the National Electric Code (NEC) and can work with medium and high voltage (480V+) systems.
  • You have experience with AC/DC motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • You can confidently read electrical schematics, including single line diagrams and ladder logic.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on 3rd shift or overnight shifts in an industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation systems and safety protocols.
  • Certification in OSHA safety standards or equivalent safety training.
  • Experience in a Corrugated Box Plant or the Paper Industry.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair various electrical equipment.
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and operator interfaces.
  • Knowledge of power distribution infrastructure.
  • Journeyman electrician license and/or experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and emergency electrical maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment and facility electrical systems during the 3rd shift.
  • Diagnose electrical malfunctions using appropriate testing devices and schematic diagrams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot control systems, motors, transformers, and other electrical components to ensure optimal operation.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to schedule and execute preventative maintenance tasks that reduce equipment downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
