Our Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems, equipment and components. They work closely with engineers and maintenance staff to ensure the reliability and safety of electrical systems.  Must have multi-craft experience with strong electrical knowledge.  Expected to assist with problem solutions and training. Applicants need to be highly motivated and self-directed working with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and parts, such as control panels. This position requires extensive knowledge of electrical components as well as electrical safety codes and regulations. Must be professional, technical, and mechanically proficient.
  • Work can be physically demanding. In order to install and repair equipment, the electrician may need to crawl, climb and stand for extended periods of time. Must also be able to operate tools in close proximity to electrical components.
  • Must work with circuit breaker panels, Buss rail feed systems, Buss plugs, disconnect panels, running conduit and sizing conductor and fuses necessary to power plant equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical problems with production equipment working with fuses, electrical feed sources and control wiring.
  • Communicate with OEM equipment tech support of equipment problems to request technical assistance.
  • Must be able to understand and make decisions based on technical documents, such as blueprints, schematics, or instructions. Must be motivated to work on their own and as part of a team. Strong communication skills are a necessary part of this position.
  • Complete electrical installations from 120-460 volts; troubleshoot electrical circuits.
  • 4-5 day work week.

  • 1st Shift hours are 5:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Thursday. Overtime as scheduled; could include weekends.
  • Salary range up to $42/hour based on qualifications and experience. Quarterly Bonus Plan.

Qualifications

 

  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical components of industrial equipment and facility.
  • Working as a team member or alone to complete Maintenance projects.
  • Observing safety procedures and meeting National and State electrical codes.
  • Making decisions based on technical documents.
  • Performing quality testing and inspections.
  • Awareness of national, state, and local electrical codes and regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Motivated self-starter who can manage projects and make decisions.
  • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents.
  • Must have knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment.
  • Must be willing to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, crawling, etc.
  • Other duties as required.

Education/Experience

  • Journeyman's or Master Electrician's License, and/or Associate degree (two-year college or technical school) and/or combined education and equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years of electrical/controls experience.

Computer Skills

  • Must possess basic PC skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • PLC experience, knowledgeable in programming controllers.

Certificates & Licenses

  • Specific licenses required, electrical safe practices or Arc Flash certificate, mechanical, valid driver's license, ability to pass Hayward's forklift certification.
