Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair metal-stamping presses and supporting production equipment. Candidates should have strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience with at least one or two of the following areas:
- Metal-stamping press-room maintenance
- Boiler maintenance
- Welding-equipment maintenance
- Industrial waste-management systems
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair stamping presses and production equipment.
- Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Repair press controls, electronic servo feeds, automatic presses, and secondary presses.
- Troubleshoot engines, motors, conveyors, pneumatic tools, and related equipment.
- Replace and repair motors, valves, cylinders, hoses, lines, and fittings.
- Complete mechanical adjustments and equipment installations.
- Observe machinery during operation to identify malfunctions.
- Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and equipment failures.
- Troubleshoot and repair spot-welding machines and related equipment.
- Maintain and repair toolroom machinery.
- Complete minor welding and fabrication assignments.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and precision testing instruments.
- Read blueprints, equipment manuals, manufacturers’ specifications, and work instructions.
- Coordinate with die setters and production personnel regarding equipment maintenance.
- Document completed repairs and report excessive repair costs to management.
- Maintain records according to OSHA, ANSI, and EPA requirements.
- Keep machinery, tools, and maintenance areas clean and safe.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least five years of experience repairing hydraulic or metal-stamping press equipment.
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or metal-stamping environment.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical equipment documentation.
- Familiarity with industrial electrical systems is preferred.
- PLC knowledge and the ability to read ladder logic are highly preferred.
- Electrical engineering or industrial technology degree or certification is a plus.
- Experience repairing spot-welding machines is preferred.
- Boiler, waste-management, or welding-equipment maintenance experience is a plus.
- Strong safety awareness and ability to work independently.
