We are seeking a skilled Machine Builder to join our assembly team. This role plays a critical part in assembling complex industrial automated machines to meet or exceed customer expectations. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical aptitude, experience in automated machinery, and the ability to read and interpret engineering documentation.
Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and schematics
Assemble machines, sub-assemblies, and components including:
Frame assemblies
Drive mechanisms, motors, and shafts
Drums, rolls, and bearings
Pneumatics and hydraulics
Sensors, brackets, and guarding
Use hand tools and precision measuring instruments to ensure proper assembly and alignment
Conduct operational tests, make necessary adjustments, and verify tolerances and finishes
Rig and position heavy components using cranes and forklifts (certifications preferred)
Support shipping and receiving functions as needed
Perform daily preventative maintenance on assembly tools and equipment
Recommend process improvements to optimize quality and efficiency
Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures
Maintain a clean and organized work area

High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or trade certification a plus
3–5+ years of experience in machine building or mechanical assembly (industrial automation preferred)
Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and mechanical drawings
Strong proficiency with hand tools and analog/digital precision measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, pi-tapes, etc.)
Proficient in machine layout and mechanical tolerances
Forklift and crane operation experience (certification preferred)
Basic understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Office, and ERP systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Physically capable of standing for long periods, frequent walking, and lifting up to 100 lbs
Comfortable with a contract-to-hire arrangement
Willingness to work overtime, including optional half-day Saturdays
Strong attention to detail and accuracy — “first time right” assembly mindset
