This position supports the Industrial Engineering Manager by providing centralized analysis, planning, and reporting. The position serves as a liaison among the various departments at the national office and the plants to ensure increasingly efficient and productive supply chain operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • 10% Capital Appropriations Budget (CAB) - Coordinate the annual CAB development process with inputs from all divisions.
  • 15% Mars, Incorporated Reporting - (1) CAB Quarterly Update Reporting (Q15) - Collect plant data, consolidate at the corporate level, and submit to McLean (2) PO2 Reports - Consolidate plant inputs. (3) Divisional Report - Consolidate plant inputs and create corporate summaries. (4) Americas Region Petcare A30 - consolidate and validate input from the Units.
  • 10% Administer MPAR (Project Approval Request) process. Ensure timely MPAR submissions. Liaison with McLean to ensure timely project approval.
  • 10% Americas Petcare Capacity Planning - Consolidate and validate petcare capacity plans for the Americas region.
  • 5% Liaison with Operations Planning to ensure site production allocations reflect planned capacities.
  • 25% Study current and future alternatives for increasing supply chain efficiency.
  • 25% Support Profitability initiatives by analyzing opportunities that affect manufacturing and/or the supply chain.
  • 100% Participate in site Safety Program and actively look for way to improve site and area safety.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the National Office Industrial Engineering Manager through various special assignments.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • BS in Industrial Engineering with a minimum of 2 years Industrial Engineering experience in a Food Manufacturing environment.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate to all levels in the organization.
  • Proven problem solving skills.
  • Proficiency in personal computer software packages (word, spreadsheet, database).
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of I.E. technical theory, cost analysis, queuing theory, and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to travel requirements approximately 10%.

Specialty Area:

Knowledge of manufacturing systems; experience in the use of simulation software; above average spreadsheet proficiency.

Classical Industrial Engineering methods, time studies, work sampling, plant layout, etc...

  • Ability to work long hours and be available on a call in basis.
  • Ability to handle tools or equipment.
  • Ability to work under tight schedules in high pressure situations.
