Job Overview:

Industrial Engineer – CNC Manufacturing

Atlas Fibre is seeking a hands-on Industrial Engineer to support production flow, workplace organization, standard work, setup reduction, capacity visibility, and time-based measurement across our precision machining, fabrication, and light assembly operations.

This role is focused on improving how work moves from order release through shipment. The Industrial Engineer will work closely with Production, Production Control, Cell Leads, Quality, Tooling, and Manufacturing Engineering to improve work readiness, kitting, material flow, ERP accuracy, visual control, and execution stability.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and sustain 6S efforts across production areas with support from Production leadership and Cell Leads.

· Develop, improve, and maintain standard work documentation for production flow, set up preparation, kitting, material movement, handoffs, and repeatable execution practices.

· Support setup reduction by improving pre-stage activity, reducing setup variation, and strengthening point-of-use readiness.

· Improve work readiness, kitting, and material flow by confirming required inputs are staged, visible, and prepared before release to execution.

· Use time-based measurement to establish baselines for setup time, wait time, queue time, work vs. wait, plan vs. actual, and budget-to-actual variance.

· Work directly in ERP to support accurate order status, labor reporting, routing accuracy, inventory transactions, and execution tracking.

Qualifications

· Minimum 5 years of experience supporting a CNC machining environment required, preferably including mills, lathes, or other high-mix machining operations.

· Proven experience with 6S, standard work, setup reduction/SMED, material flow, time studies, work measurement, and process documentation.

· ERP experience preferred, including work order status, routings, labor reporting, inventory transactions, and production execution visibility.

· Strong documentation skills with the ability to develop clear, practical, and usable standards for production teams.

· Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is hands-on, shop-floor focused, and comfortable working directly with production teams. This person can observe work, document facts, identify waste, improve flow, and create practical standards that help the team execute with greater consistency, visibility, and confidence.
