Riverpoint Medical in Northeast Portland is hiring an Industrial Engineer. At Riverpoint you will be part of the process that brings great technology to Medical, Dental and Veterinary markets. We specialize in the design and manufacturing of premium medical devices. Our ingenuity can be found in our suture technologies, sports medicine fibers and anchors, surgical lighting, and special needle technologies. The Industrial Engineer will provide professional industrial engineering services by creating, developing, and implementing efficient manufacturing systems, reducing costs while supporting overall business objectives of Riverpoint Medical. Collaborate with other engineering and manufacturing disciplines in the development of processes to continually strive to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency which include research, test, propose and implementation of best practice improvement opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and/or supports key operational excellence plans for the site.
- Develops and maintains capacity model for high mix production environment with frequent product introductions (equipment and labor).
- Develops and maintains plant layout to support growth and equipment changes.
- Conducts work measurement studies to establish operational and production standards.
- Develops and implements operations KPI reporting metrics.
- Provides input for identification and planning of department goals and budget, development, standardization, and implementation of initiatives intended to improve the quality, cost and delivery performance.
- Supports productivity, quality, process efficiency, space utilization, standardization and lead time improvement efforts.
- Ensures workplace safety, maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
- Provides production layout, operations, and planning support for new product introduction
- Apply lean principles and provide innovative recommendations to optimize utilization of people, machines, and information.
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering required.
- 1 - 3 years of experience working in a high-tech environment.
- LEAN Six Sigma certification and LEAN Six Sigma implementation experience required.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including macro development and data mining/manipulation tools for enhanced data value.
- PC expertise (Office, Simulation, ERP, Autocad, other databases).
- Strong analytical and data management skills.
- Must be able to multitask and establish priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills required.
