The Industrial Engineer will be a core member of the Automation Tiger Team, responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for a new factory. This role requires an expert-level understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, process optimization, and industrial engineering methodologies. The Industrial Engineer will work cross-functionally to ensure that all manufacturing systems—including ERP, MES, CMMS, and BMS—are properly set up to support a data-driven, high-efficiency production under a lights-out automation environment. Additionally, this role will be responsible for defining production routings and bills of materials (BOMs) in ERP and will serve as a project manager for all industrial engineering-related activities.
What You’ll Do
Manufacturing Systems Implementation
Lead the setup and integration of ERP, MES, CMMS, and BMS systems to support advanced manufacturing operations.
Define and establish routings, work instructions, and BOMs within the ERP system.
Ensure that MES is properly configured to track and monitor real-time production data.
Support CMMS implementation for preventive maintenance and asset management.
Align BMS with manufacturing processes to optimize facility operations.
Automation & Smart Manufacturing Alignment
Work closely with automation engineers to ensure manufacturing workflows integrate seamlessly with automated systems.
Provide industrial engineering input into the selection, design, and commissioning of automation technologies.
Develop data-driven decision-making frameworks to maximize efficiency in a near-lights-out manufacturing environment.
Lean Manufacturing & Process Optimization
Develop and implement Lean Manufacturing strategies to eliminate waste and optimize efficiency.
Conduct detailed time studies, line balancing, and workflow analysis to enhance productivity.
Implement industrial engineering methodologies such as Kaizen, Six Sigma, SMED, and Value Stream Mapping.
Design and optimize factory layouts, material flow systems, and work cells to improve operational efficiency.
Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes.
Project Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Act as the project manager for industrial engineering activities, setting timelines and ensuring deliverables are met.
Collaborate with operations, supply chain, automation, and IT teams to optimize workflows and digital systems.
Train and mentor stakeholders on Lean principles, system functionalities, and best practices in process optimization.
Work with finance and procurement teams to evaluate cost-benefit analyses for process improvements.
Who You Are
Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.
Proven experience implementing ERP, MES, CMMS, and BMS in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of automation technologies and how they impact industrial engineering workflows.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, process simulation tools, and data analytics.
Skills/Experience We’re Looking For

Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
Project management experience with the ability to handle multiple high-priority initiatives.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Experience in a highly automated manufacturing environment is a plus.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 5+ years in industrial engineering, process optimization, or manufacturing systems implementation.
