Hino Motors Manufacturing U.S.A. Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hino Motors, Ltd. (Japan) and a Toyota Group Company. For seven decades, Hino Motors, Ltd. has proudly manufactured the number one selling medium and heavy-duty truck in Japan. It also manufactures buses and diesel engines.

In the United States, Hino Motors Manufacturing U.S.A. currently has employees in 4 states including Michigan, Arkansas, West Virginia and California. The Corporate Office resides in Novi, Michigan. Hino assembles medium-duty trucks at its Mineral Wells, West Virginia plant. Its manufacturing facilities in Marion, Arkansas produces axles, knuckles and suspension components for Toyota’s Tacoma, Tundra and Sequoia. Hino’s Parts Distribution Center in Mira Loma, California supplies Latin American and Caribbean distributors with genuine Hino service parts.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate time study and ergonomic evaluations for each workstation
  • Implement workstation designs that meet safety and ergonomic requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement activities for assigned area
  • Implement lean manufacturing concepts
  • Plan & implement productivity improvements
  • Support development of assembly process for future programs
  • Provide Technical support and assistance to manufacturing and maintenance team members, production supervisors and production team members
  • Ability to design work operations that meet safety, quality and efficiency requirements with high integrity
  • Maintain accurate time studies through motion analysis and application of standard time data charts
  • Maintain accurate ergonomic studies to eliminate operator injuries caused by repetitive assembly motions
  • Maintain accurate routings of parts to their assembly location
  • Maintain accurate workstation layouts using AutoCAD
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts in assigned area through elimination of waste
  • Evaluate bottleneck areas and support throughput and productivity improvements in assigned area
  • Support change management projects by developing line balance plans and participating in production trials
  • Reduce total cost by improving productivity metrics related to operator work loading and value-added percent
  • Support implementation and training for standardized work development
  • Become a coach and teacher of lean manufacturing principles to the production floor
  • Drive problem solving efforts
  • Determine logistics support requirements such as facility details, staffing needs, safety/maintenance plans.
  • Develop and implement logistic metrics, internal analysis tools and KPIs.
  • Support and develop process improvements to ensure 5S targets are engineered into the warehouse layout and material flow.
  • Develop relationships with your production department and related personnel

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of time study and motion analysis
  • Knowledge of human factors engineering / ergonomic analysis
  • Experience in documentation of standardized work procedures
  • Experience in implementation of lean manufacturing concepts, such as Six Sigma
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (heavily focused on Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Proficient use of AutoCAD
  • Position may require sitting for prolonged periods of time, moving equipment up to 25 pounds.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience. Automotive experience highly desirable.
  • 5S/TPS Principals
  • Warehouse and Yard Management Systems
  • Industrial Vehicle Automation.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; Industrial Engineering preferred
