Sigvaris is currently looking for an Industrial Engineer to join our team in Holland, MI. As a leading compression solution provider, we are not just a company that manufactures products. The Industrial Engineer develops and evaluates new processes and suggests improvements in capabilities, efficiencies and productivity in all areas of manufacturing, along with maintaining a standard costing system through Bill of Materials Maintenance (BOM). It also has the responsibility to identify and execute solutions for improvements in safety, quality, productivity and cost.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs time and motion studies to develop and maintain standards and increase efficiencies and utilizations throughout the production group.
• Implements Lean Initiatives as applicable in all manufacturing areas.
• Maintains Bill of Materials (BOM) files for all products.
• Analyzes work force utilization, facility layout and operational data such as production cost, process flow charts and production schedules to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
• Provides support to operations management.
• Participates in Sales, Marketing and R&D meetings to ensure new products scheduled are on time.
• Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency, reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, and relocation of workstations and/or equipment.
• Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
• Maintains a positive and professional working relationship with all departments and/or current and potential vendors using a "partnership" approach. Generates effective communication, good relations and a positive service-oriented image with co-workers promoting courtesy, objectivity, and fairness.
• Support physical inventory counts - Year End & Cycle Counts as instructed in accordance with set procedures and planning schedules.
• Leads the investigation of any discrepancy to the loss of labor and/or materials.
• Stops any unsafe equipment.
• Follows established procedures and guidelines that assure compliance with Sigvaris policies, industry standards, ISO 13485 standards, and Federal, State and local laws.
• Support the Sigvaris Quality System and Quality Policy by following work instructions and creating and maintaining records to meet all internal and external requirements.
• Fosters positive morale among staff, by promotion of open communication with all departments, to help create and maintain an innovative and cooperative staff relationship and environment.
o Interacting with external and internal customers in a manner conducive to continued positive relationships.

• Demonstrates effective communication methods.
o Director of Engineering and/or appropriate management staff are kept informed of developments affecting their functions.

o Checks and responds to voice mail messages in a timely manner.
o Accurately and legibly presents written data to affected internal/external customer.
• Assists with the implementation of Lean/Kaizen initiatives or events in the department.
• Follows all work instructions, creates and maintains accurate records to meet all internal and external requirements to support the SIGVARIS Quality System and Quality Policy.
• Accurately performs any other duties and responsibilities as assigned to ensure an efficient workflow.
Requirements
EDUCATION and WORK EXPERIENCE:
• A bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably textile industry.
• Experience in maintaining standard product costing systems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This job operates in both an office and manufacturing environment (production floor). This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filling cabinets and fax machines.
• Regularly required to sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, bend, lift or climb.
• Occasionally required to lift weights (less than 25 pounds).
• Finger dexterity and hand coordination required.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust or focus.
