We are looking for an Industrial Engineer to support our team at our location in Cranston, Rhode Island.

Position Overview:

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and improving production systems for maximum efficiency, integrating people, machines, materials, and information to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness through process analysis, workflow optimization, data-driven decisions, layout design, and quality control.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Process Improvement: Analyze existing workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to reduce waste and boost output.
  • System Design: Develop new or improved production processes, layouts and workflows to increase efficiency and to ensure products meet quality standards. Ensure that work processes are safe and address safety issues and concerns.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data on productivity, quality, ergonomics, and costs to make informed decision.
  • Quality Control: Implement and coordinate quality control procedures to meet standards and resolve production issues. .Generate process documentation and reports.
  • Cost Reduction: Develop cost analysis systems and find ways to minimize expenses while maintaining or improving performance.
  • Collaboration: Work with management, production staff, vendors, and other departments (like IT) to meet project goals.
  • Standards Development: Establish labor utilization standards, production metrics, and work instructions.
  • Technology Integration: Evaluate and implement new equipment, software, and technologies.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and statistical skills.
  • Proficiency with relevant software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ERP systems, MS Office)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing principles, quality standards, and logistics
  • Project management capabilities
  • Ability to work in a demanding, multi-task environment
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts

Education and/or Experience:

  • BS in industrial engineering or related field such as manufacturing or mechanical engineering, required
  • 2-3 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment
