Are you a skilled Electrician looking for a new challenge? Amsted Rail, a leading organization in the rail industry, is seeking a full-time Electrician to join our Maintenance Department in Petersburg, VA.

About the Role:

As an Electrician at Amsted Rail, you will install, repair, and maintain a wide variety of electrical equipment and circuitry, including electric motors, programmable drives, high voltage circuits, electrical control panels, programmable logic controllers, and more. Your thorough knowledge of the electrical trade and understanding of our plant operating principles will ensure our equipment functions properly and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to plant-wide safety, ergonomics, and environmental requirements.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and manuals.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Install and maintain electrical equipment, power distribution, lighting, signals, and alarms.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain relay logic circuits, starters, motors, electrical metering devices, and electrical measuring devices.
  • And much more!

Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of computer operations and Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) systems.
  • 4-year apprenticeship program or 2-year degree in Maintenance/Electrical/ Technology or equivalent training with experience.

Preferred:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ journeymen experience in related field with proven industry experience, trade school experience, and 4-year apprenticeship program.

Other:

  • Ability and willingness to work 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts and the flexibility to work a schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, or holidays.
