Industrial Electrician (Machine & PLC Wiring)
Location: Itasca, IL
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 months)
Pay Rate: $28–$30/hr (open to higher for top-tier candidates)
Schedule: 6:00am–2:30pm
Overtime: Up to 20 hours per week

A growing custom automation and machine-building organization is seeking experienced Industrial Electricians to support a major increase in project demand. This role is heavily focused on machine wiring and PLC wiring for custom-built automation equipment. These hires will play a critical role in keeping complex projects on schedule while maintaining the company’s high standards for quality, safety, and precision.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform machine, control panel, enclosure, and PLC wiring for custom automation equipment
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
Install and bend conduit as required
Wire and troubleshoot motors, drives, sensors, relays, and control panels
Work with high-voltage electrical systems, including industrial power distribution
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues to ensure reliable equipment operation
Collaborate closely with mechanical assembly teams and engineers to meet build specifications and project timelines
Ensure all work meets electrical codes, safety standards, and internal quality requirements
Required Experience:
High school diploma or GED
3+ years of experience as an Industrial Electrician in a manufacturing or machine-building environment
Strong hands-on experience with machine wiring, enclosure wiring, and PLC wiring
Proven ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and prints
Solid troubleshooting experience with motors, drives, and control systems
Preferred Experience:
Exposure to industrial automation and PLC programming
Knowledge of 480V, 3-phase electrical systems
Conduit bending and installation experience
Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures in an industrial setting
