Job Overview:

NOW HIRING: Electrician III – Senior Industrial Electrician

American Crane & Equipment Corporation | Douglassville, PAUp to $45/hr | Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM | No Nights

Build Complex Electrical Systems From Print to Power-Up

You don't just pull wire — you build complete electrical systems inside custom overhead cranes and hoists that move the heaviest loads in the most demanding industries on Earth. Our Electrician IIIs own the full scope: interpreting engineered drawings, fabricating rigid conduit runs, wiring control panels, integrating VFDs and PLCs, and powering up systems that have to work the first time.

This is skilled, blueprint-to-commissioning electrical work in a climate-controlled shop — not maintenance, not construction, not chasing service calls. If you've spent years building complex electrical assemblies in a custom manufacturing environment and want a role where your expertise actually matters, keep reading.

What You'll Do

  • Build complete electrical systems for custom overhead cranes and hoists — from print interpretation through final power-up and testing
  • Fabricate and install rigid conduit runs (EMT, IMC, rigid) with precision bending to spec
  • Wire and terminate control panels, motor starters, VFDs, PLCs, disconnects, and operator interfaces
  • Read and interpret complex electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues across 480V three-phase, 240V, and 120V systems
  • Perform point-to-point wiring verification, megger testing, and system commissioning
  • Mentor junior electricians and serve as a technical resource on the shop floor
  • Collaborate with engineering on panel design, routing solutions, and electrical integration challenges

Your Background

Required

  • 5+ years of industrial electrical experience with demonstrated expertise in electrical assembly, panel wiring, and rigid conduit fabrication
  • Proficiency reading complex electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Hands-on experience with 480V three-phase power distribution, motor controls, VFDs, and PLC I/O wiring
  • Skilled in rigid conduit bending (hand, mechanical, and hydraulic benders)
  • Working knowledge of NEC code and industrial electrical standards
  • Own hand tools appropriate for industrial electrical work

Preferred

  • Experience in crane, hoist, or heavy equipment manufacturing
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC/VFD platforms
  • Electrical License or relevant certifications (Journeyman, NCCER, etc.)
  • Experience wiring to UL 508A or UL 698A panel standards
