Job Description

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot electrical and automation equipment, including PLC I/O cards and field devices. PLC programming is not required, but candidates should understand basic ladder logic and function block logic. Troubleshoot Siemens or Allen-Bradley PLC systems, 3-phase motors, VFDs, prox switches, photoeyes, pressure valves, and instrumentation. Respond to crane and other production equipment trouble calls. Perform preventative maintenance on PLC and instrumentation cabinets, including inspecting wiring, labels, terminals, and connections. Work with electrical systems including conduit, lighting, cameras, and controls. Follow electrical safety and lockout/tagout procedures.

Typical Work

Reactive maintenance and troubleshooting, including VFD fault diagnosis, dirty photoeyes, failed prox switches, wiring issues, and I/O faults. Perform preventative maintenance on control and instrumentation cabinets while supporting production and minimizing equipment downtime.

Requirements

Industrial electrical troubleshooting experience, including PLC I/O troubleshooting, 3-phase motors, and VFDs. Ability to read electrical schematics and a basic understanding of PLC controls. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
