Industrial Control Panel Technician

We are hiring an experienced Industrial Control Panel Technician to support the buildout of custom industrial control panels for automation and electrical control systems. This position is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience building panels from electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering documentation.

The technician will be responsible for assembling control panels from start to finish, including enclosure layout, component mounting, wiring, labeling, quality checks, and troubleshooting. Candidates should be comfortable working with industrial electrical components and should have strong attention to detail when following drawings and wiring requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Build and wire industrial control panels from engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Lay out panels and mount electrical components inside enclosures
• Perform enclosure modifications, drilling, tapping, cutting, and assembly as needed
• Complete point-to-point wiring, wire routing, labeling, and termination
• Work with components such as relays, terminal blocks, breakers, power supplies, PLC hardware, VFDs, HMIs, and control devices
• Troubleshoot wiring issues and verify panel accuracy against drawings
• Perform quality checks to ensure panels are built cleanly, accurately, and safely
• Follow shop standards, customer specifications, and applicable electrical requirements
• Support testing, inspection, and final panel preparation
• Maintain an organized and safe work area

Qualifications:

• Previous experience building industrial control panels, electrical cabinets, or automation panels
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts
• Hands-on experience with wiring, crimping, terminating, labeling, and routing wires
• Experience with enclosure modifications and mechanical assembly
• Strong troubleshooting skills related to wiring and panel builds
• Familiarity with industrial electrical components and automation hardware
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently
• UL508A experience preferred
• Active or past UL508A MTR certification is a strong plus
