We're seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Building Engineer to join a world-class facilities team responsible for maintaining the critical mechanical infrastructure that supports a 24/7 live broadcast operation.

This is not your typical commercial facilities position.

You'll be responsible for maintaining and optimizing complex HVAC, chilled water, electrical support systems, building automation, and mission-critical infrastructure where even the smallest equipment failure can impact live television broadcasts viewed by millions.

What You'll Do

As the Senior Industrial Building Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring maximum reliability and uptime of all mechanical systems supporting our broadcast operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate, troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize HVAC and mechanical systems supporting studios, control rooms, server rooms, and technical facilities
  • Maintain chilled water systems, air handling units (AHUs), VAV systems, DX equipment, and precision cooling systems
  • Operate and monitor critical infrastructure including:
  • UPS systems
  • Diesel generators
  • Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
  • Chillers
  • CRAH/CRAC units
  • Utilize Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS) to monitor environmental conditions, identify issues, and respond to alarms
  • Maintain strict temperature and humidity requirements for mission-critical broadcast equipment
  • Perform advanced preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical and facility systems
  • Diagnose equipment failures and perform root cause analysis to eliminate recurring issues
  • Coordinate maintenance activities to avoid disruption of live broadcast operations
  • Collaborate closely with Broadcast Engineering and Digital Technology teams to support production requirements
  • Monitor and optimize energy usage while maintaining peak system performance
  • Support commissioning, renovations, equipment upgrades, and new studio build-outs
  • Oversee contractors, vendors, and service providers performing facility work
  • Maintain documentation within CMMS/work order systems
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, ASHRAE, and applicable building codes
  • Promote a culture of safety, reliability, and operational excellence

We're Looking For Someone Who HasRequired Experience

  • 7+ years of industrial or commercial building engineering experience
  • Experience maintaining mission-critical mechanical systems
  • Strong HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience
  • Experience with chilled water systems and precision cooling
  • Hands-on experience operating Building Automation Systems (BMS/BAS)
  • Experience supporting facilities where uptime is essential

Preferred Industry Experience

Experience in one or more of the following:

  • Live Broadcast Facilities
  • Television Studios
  • Data Centers

  • Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
  • Critical Manufacturing Facilities

  • Mission-Critical Operations

Technical Knowledge

Knowledge of redundancy design (N+1 / 2N architecture) is highly desirable.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • EPA Certification (Required)
  • Valid Florida Driver's License
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot complex mechanical systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Customer-focused mindset with outstanding teamwork abilities
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in HVAC/R, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or related field
  • HVAC Technical Certification
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
  • Experience with ServiceNow, iOFFICE, or other CMMS platforms
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, and general building maintenance

Work Environment

This is a hands-on role inside a fast-paced, mission-critical broadcast environment where equipment reliability is essential.

You must be comfortable:

  • Responding to emergency service calls
  • Working around critical production equipment
  • Working independently with minimal supervision
  • Supporting live television production
  • Making sound decisions under pressure

Because broadcasting never stops, this position requires flexibility to work:

  • Saturdays as part of the regular schedule

  • On-call rotations as needed to support live programming
