Industrial Assembly Technician

Location: Bethlehem, PA

Are you mechanically and electrically inclined with experience in industrial assembly, hydraulics, or electrical systems? We are seeking a skilled Industrial Assembly Technician to join a growing manufacturing team building and assembling specialized truck-mounted equipment.

In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic components. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, reading blueprints and schematics, and taking pride in producing high-quality finished equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and install hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic components.
  • Install hydraulic systems including pumps, valves, cylinders, actuators, reservoirs, filters, hoses, fittings, and related components.
  • Assemble, install, and test electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, and electronic components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, electrical diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Fabricate and install mounting hardware, brackets, and other components as needed.
  • Assemble and install hydraulic hoses and ensure fittings and connections meet quality standards.
  • Perform system start-up, testing, pressure testing, flow verification, and troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Identify malfunctioning components and determine necessary repairs or replacement parts.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, gauges, meters, soldering equipment, and other testing tools.
  • Perform minor mechanical and electrical repairs.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance, testing, and resolving installation or service-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, installation records, and test results.
  • Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively with other members of the manufacturing team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in industrial assembly, hydraulics, electrical systems, mechanical assembly, maintenance, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, electrical diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of industrial wiring, power distribution, automotive electrical systems, hydraulics, mechanical systems, or pneumatic systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience using a variety of hand, power, electric, and pneumatic tools.
  • Experience with soldering, electrical testing, gauges, meters, or fault-testing equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and identify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
  • Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, jacks, or similar equipment is preferred.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to become certified may be required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work around large equipment and truck chassis.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders, working under equipment, and performing hands-on assembly tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperatures, noise, dust, and other typical manufacturing conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Electrical, technical, or trade school education is preferred.
  • Completion of an electrical apprenticeship is a plus.
  • CDL Class B license or ability to obtain one is a plus.
