Description
The In-Process Quality Technician is responsible for performing inspections and tests during composite manufacturing to verify that products meet established specifications and quality standards. This role ensures early detection of nonconforming materials, supports production with technical feedback, and maintains accurate documentation for compliance with ISO and customer requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform in-process inspections of composite parts, subassemblies, and raw materials using measurement tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
- Verify conformance to engineering drawings, blueprints, routers, and work instructions.
- Conduct dimensional inspections, surface quality checks, and resin cure verification.
- Record and maintain inspection data, including nonconformance reports, scrap records, and process deviations.
- Collaborate with operators, supervisors, and engineers to resolve quality issues in real time.
- Segregate and properly identify nonconforming materials per company procedures.
- Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) investigations by providing inspection data and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, customer requirements, and company quality management system (QMS).
- Maintain calibration and proper use inspection tools and measuring devices.
- Adhere to all safety and environmental requirements, including PPE use and chemical handling guidelines.
- Monitor and achieve established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as production output, quality standards, efficiency, and safety compliance, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with company goals.
- Keep work area clean and organized to prevent safety hazards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Training
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSE).
- Technical training in quality assurance, inspection, or composites preferred.
Knowledge & Experience
- 2+ years of experience in quality inspection or manufacturing preferred.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
- Strong knowledge of inspection methods, precision measuring instruments, and composite manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Experience documenting and reporting inspections results in QMS systems.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspection tasks.
- Proficient in using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision instruments.
- Ability to identify, document, and communicate quality issues effectively.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills with ability to work across departments.

Hours / Shifts: This is a 3rd shift position.
1st Shift: Monday through Friday 7:00am – 3:00pm EST
2nd Shift: Monday through Friday 3:00pm – 11:00pm EST
3rd Shift: Sunday through Friday 11:00pm – 7:00am EST
Hours and shifts may vary depending on needs of the department.
