Position Role Type:


In-process builders in the 8757 department will be responsible for assembling, testing, and verifying products meet customer specifications. These processes include using small hand tools such as a ruler and scale, as well as electrical testing equipment. In-process builders will perform preventative maintenance on their tools and machines as required by manufacturing instructions. This position will be responsible for the production and testing of quality parts in a timely manner. A candidate for this position should be a people person who works well with a team and collaborate with people from other departments as well as working independently.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ability to implement procedures set in manufacturing instructions to assemble parts
  • Ability to read, calculate, measure and mix ingredients, document and follow written work instructions and procedures
  • Receive precut pieces of composite material and perform repetitive actions on multiple pieces using hand tools
  • Perform preventative maintenance on tooling and machines
  • Complete all documents completely and accurately in the computerized tracking system
  • Drive plant performance through safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics
  • Keep the work area clean and organized to facilitate process flow improvements
  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum education requirement of a High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Have experience reading blueprints and specification sheets
  • Understand military time and be able to calculate out time hours
  • Must be willing to be trained to wear a respirator and work with chemicals
  • Perform work in a safe manner and completes all required safety trainings
  • Must have the ability to work any shifts and overtime including weekends
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
