Job Overview:

Hydraulic & Electrical Installation Technician

A growing manufacturer of specialized truck-mounted equipment is seeking a skilled Hydraulic & Electrical Installation Technician to join our production team. This hands-on role is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, testing, and maintaining hydraulic and electrical systems on heavy-duty equipment and aerial lift units.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience with hydraulic and electrical systems, and the ability to work from schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install hydraulic components including pumps, valves, cylinders, reservoirs, PTOs, hoses, fittings, actuators, and filtration systems
  • Assemble, wire, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems and components
  • Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Perform hydraulic pressure testing, flow testing, calibration, and system startup procedures
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical issues
  • Fabricate and install mounting hardware and brackets as needed
  • Install related electrical systems including 12-volt wiring, generators, and power connections
  • Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, soldering equipment, gauges, and testing devices
  • Maintain accurate installation, testing, and repair documentation
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Collaborate with team members, engineers, and supervisors to complete projects efficiently

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in hydraulic installation, electrical assembly, equipment maintenance, or related manufacturing work
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills
  • Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics
  • Knowledge of industrial wiring, automotive electrical systems, and hydraulic components
  • Experience using diagnostic and testing equipment
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred
  • CDL Class B license or willingness to obtain one is a plus
  • Technical degree, vocational training, or apprenticeship preferred
