Schedule: 7:00-5:30 M-Friday (Some weekends)
Job Summary
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Work with project supervisors and other trades to complete assignments safely, accurately, and according to project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and service HVAC equipment, including rooftop units, air handlers, heat pumps, and related components.
- Read blueprints, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer instructions.
- Install refrigerant piping, condensate drains, duct connections, hangers, and supports.
- Perform copper pipe brazing, pressure testing, evacuation, and refrigerant charging when qualified and authorized.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, airflow, thermostat, and control issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance, including filter replacement, coil cleaning, and equipment inspections.
- Assist with system startup and verify proper operation.
- Document completed work and report equipment issues or additional repair needs.
- Follow jobsite safety procedures and coordinate work with supervisors and other trades.
Required Qualifications
- Previous commercial HVAC installation or service experience appropriate to the assignment.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Working knowledge of HVAC equipment, refrigeration principles, and electrical troubleshooting.
- EPA Section 608 certification appropriate to assigned refrigerant work.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, meters, and HVAC diagnostic equipment.
- Reliable transportation to assigned jobsites.
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA Section 608 Universal certification.
- NATE certification or completion of an HVAC trade school or apprenticeship program.
- Experience with commercial rooftop units, building controls, and system startup.
Safety and Jobsite Requirements
- OSHA 10 Construction card, if required by the client.
- Appropriate lift training and authorization if operating scissor or boom lifts.
- Task-specific training for fall protection, energy isolation, or confined space work, as applicable.
- Required personal protective equipment and compliance with site safety policies.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Work may involve standing, climbing, bending, kneeling, moving tools and equipment, and working on rooftops or in confined areas.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor construction environments.

This is a field role: the work happens at customer and job sites rather than at a single worksite, and you will be based within driving distance of the job location. Expect day trips to job sites, with most nights at home.
