Job Overview:

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to support 24/7 mission‑critical cooling and mechanical systems at Mountain Media Center — a 325,000 sq. ft. broadcast and data center campus supporting live production, master control, and high‑availability technology operations.

This role is ideal for a technician with strong commercial/industrial HVAC experience and a background indata centers, critical facilities, or broadcast environments.

Compensation:

  • $62,000– $96,000 per hour DOE

Key Responsibilities

Critical Cooling & Mechanical Systems

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair CRAC/CRAH units (Stulz, Liebert), RTUs, VAV boxes, VFDs, cooling towers, boilers, and related mechanical systems.
  • Support raised‑floor and underfloor airflow management in data center environments.

Building Automation & Monitoring

  • Monitor, adjust, and respond to alarms via the Building Management System (BMS).
  • Quickly resolve airflow, humidity, and temperature deviations to protect uptime.

Preventive Maintenance

  • Perform scheduled PMs including filter changes, coil cleaning, belt/bearing replacement, refrigerant checks, and equipment inspections.
  • Document all work orders, logs, and compliance records.

Emergency & On‑Call Response

  • Participate in rotating on‑call coverage (nights/weekends) for critical facility emergencies.

Diagnostics & Electrical Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using multimeters, gauges, and diagnostic tools.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.

Vendor & Cross‑Trade Support

  • Coordinate with mechanical contractors for major repairs and capital projects.
  • Assist with light plumbing tasks (fixtures, water heaters, minor leaks).

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow lockout/tagout, confined-space, fall-protection, and other safety procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years commercial/industrial HVAC or refrigeration experience
  • Data center or critical‑environment experience strongly preferred
  • EPA Section 608 Universal Certification
  • Hands-on experience with CRAC/CRAH units, RTUs, VFDs, cooling towers, and BMS platforms
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills (multimeters, continuity checks, voltage-drop testing)
  • Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications
  • Comfortable with after-hours emergencies and rotating on-call
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Plumbing experience (fixtures, water heaters, basic pipefitting)
  • NATE certification
  • Experience in broadcast facilities, data centers, or other 24/7 operations
  • Trade school certificate or HVAC/R apprenticeship
  • Familiarity with fire/life-safety systems and HVAC integration

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and climb for extended periods
  • Lift up to 100 lbs
  • Comfortable working in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and raised-floor data center environments
