Rack Air is currently hiring an experienced
**HVAC Lead Installer / Service Technician **to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a skilled technician who is experienced in both HVAC installations and service/maintenance. The right candidate will be responsible for installing new systems, diagnosing and repairing existing equipment, and leading installation projects while delivering top-quality service to our residential and commercial customers.
Pay: $70k - $120k/Year based upon performance
Installation pay– Piece Pay
Non Install work is hourly
Referral bonus available
Spiff bonus available
Schedule is Monday thru Friday 8am – 5 pm
Schedules also include On call rotation
Overtime is available based on business needs
Key Responsibilities:
- This role supports homeowners by providing reliable HVAC repair, maintenance, and system diagnostics
- Lead and supervise HVAC installation projects from start to finish
- Troubleshoot and diagnose residential HVAC systems, including furnaces, heat pumps, and air conditioning units
- Perform HVAC repairs, service calls, and preventative maintenance
- Identify system issues and recommend appropriate heating and air conditioning solutions
- Ensure all HVAC service work meets company standards and local code requirements
- Communicate clearly with homeowners about system performance and recommended repairs
- Deliver professional customer service while completing HVAC service and repair work
- Train and mentor junior technicians and installers
- Perform quality checks on completed work to ensure customer satisfaction
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience using **Service Titan **and XOI (preferred)
- Experience working with **gas, propane, and sheet metal **(a plus)
- Strong knowledge of inverter systems, including diagnostics and service
- Experience with Mini-Splits, Package Units, and Split Systems
- Ability to work on both residential and commercial HVAC systems
Requirements:
- Minimum 3**years **residential HVAC experience
- At least 3 years in a Lead Technician or Lead Installer role
- Must have both installation and service experience
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Manufacturer certifications preferred (Trane, Carrier, Daikin, Goodman, Lennox, etc.)
- **EPA Certification **required
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to work in attics, crawlspaces, and lift heavy HVAC equipment
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical HVAC certification required
