We are seeking an experienced, high-caliber Residential and Light-Commercial HVAC Installer who can independently manage and complete system replacements safely, efficiently, and professionally.
In this role, you won't just perform individual tasks—you will own the job. The ideal candidate can be assigned an installation, review the scope, organize the work, direct a helper, and complete the project with limited day-to-day supervision. We take immense pride in our craftsmanship and want an installer who values quality over speed, ensuring every system is installed correctly the first time.
Key Responsibilities & Lead Abilities- Project Ownership: Review installation scopes, verify equipment/materials, and complete installations within a reasonable labor budget.
- Crew Leadership: Direct and mentor a helper or junior installer, keep the job moving efficiently, and train less-experienced team members.
- Full-System Installation: Independently handle equipment change-outs and new installations from teardown to final commissioning.
- On-Site Problem Solving: Identify potential issues before leaving the job, communicate changes or problems to management, and recognize situations that require change orders.
- Professionalism: Maintain a clean, organized work area, protect customer property, and accurately complete all installation documentation.
Technical Skills & Capabilities
We are looking for hands-on expertise across a comprehensive range of systems and tasks, including:- Equipment: Gas furnaces, central AC systems, heat pumps, air handlers, boilers, mini-splits, ductless systems, condensers, and evaporator coils. (Experience with York equipment is a plus!).
- Piping & Venting: Refrigerant piping (brazing, proper evacuation, and charging), gas piping, PVC venting, and condensate piping.
- Electrical & Controls: Thermostats, low/line voltage controls, and basic electrical connections.
- Sheet Metal & Ductwork: Fabricating or modifying sheet-metal transitions, fittings, and necessary ductwork modifications.
- Commissioning: Performing system start-ups, verifying airflow, testing complete operation, and minimizing callbacks.
