Job Overview:

HVAC Controls Service Technician

Tridium Niagara | Commercial HVAC | Charlotte, NC

Take Your HVAC Career Beyond Wrenches and Gauges

If you're the technician everyone calls when the problem isn't obvious… if you enjoy troubleshooting, solving complex system issues, and understanding how buildings actually operate, this may be the opportunity you've been looking for.

We're seeking an HVAC Controls Service Technician to join a growing team supporting some of the region's most sophisticated commercial, industrial, institutional, and mission-critical facilities.

This isn't a role where you'll be changing filters all day.

You'll work with advanced HVAC control systems, Tridium Niagara platforms, DDC controls, VFDs, chillers, boilers, air handlers, and building automation technology that keeps facilities running efficiently and occupants comfortable.

If you enjoy combining HVAC expertise with technology, analytics, and problem-solving, you'll thrive here.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Troubleshooting and servicing HVAC controls and building automation systems
  • Supporting and maintaining Tridium Niagara-based systems
  • Diagnosing communication, controller, sensor, actuator, and network issues
  • Working with RTUs, AHUs, VAV systems, chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, and VFDs
  • Optimizing system performance to improve comfort, efficiency, and reliability
  • Assisting with system upgrades, controller replacements, graphics modifications, and commissioning activities
  • Partnering with HVAC service teams to solve complex controls-related issues
  • Building trusted relationships with customers through technical expertise and exceptional service

What We're Looking For

  • Experience troubleshooting HVAC controls, DDC systems, or Building Automation Systems
  • Tridium Niagara or Niagara N4 experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC equipment and operation
  • Experience with BACnet, Modbus, or similar communication protocols
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, control drawings, and sequences of operation
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset and desire to continuously learn
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license

Whether you're an experienced Controls Technician or a Commercial HVAC Technician with strong controls exposure, we'd love to talk.
