Key Accountabilities:
- Act as a strategic thought partner to the Plant Manager and leadership team
- Bring the voice of employees to critical organizational decisions
- Take an active role in understanding business issues. Recommend and develop approaches and programs to address those challenges.
- Lead and manage HR to ensure achievement of Global Operations and Global HR departmental goals
- Recruit, hire and onboard hourly and salaried personnel in partnership with the Talent Acquisition team
- Ensure development and succession plans are in place for those placed in a 9-box performance and talent review
- Champion a robust training program that supports all employees both in technical and leadership roles
- Administer company policies and procedures including participation in new employee orientation
- Maintain human resources systems, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll plus other employee information
- Manage a robust absence management program that is consistent and fair
- Facilitate group processes and enable and encourage employee involvement, problem solving, targets and best practices concepts
- Provide advice and coaching to local managers on people policies and procedures, employment arrangements and local labor law
- Support managers to resolve employee relations cases (such as disciplinary, grievance, absence, retirement, social disputes, etc.)
- Build a strong relationship with the Union
- Promote, support and educate employees on Employee systems including but not limited to the internal Recognition System, Careers, Workday, payroll etc.
- Provide HR data analysis and insight, enabling informed, fact-based decision making
- Support the implementation of varied HR projects enabling successful delivery of the HR strategy
- Provide first line support to employees on local employment related queries
- Provide support and guidance to direct reports
- Contribute or lead HR global projects
- Support other functions with accurate employee record keeping i.e. safety training records

Required Qualifications:
- A proven track record of strong leadership within Human Resources; 3-5 years experience and exposure to modern HR practices with a curiosity about emerging HR trends
- Excellent people management and demonstrated workforce development skills
- Data and goal oriented
- Good analytical skills in problem solving and business development
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to successfully engage with stakeholders across Alkegen, Union and outside parties
- Ability to multi-task, deal with ambiguity and challenge the status quo
- Must be able to be influential and have a proven track record as a strategic business partner to the business
- Great people management and coaching skills.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to influence culture and create alignment between business goals and HR processes
- Previous experience successfully managing a team
- Demonstrated competency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
- Able to effectively communicate and build relationship at all levels within the facility as well as partner with corporate functions and other sites
- Proven ability to interface and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Experience in maintaining relationships with union and/or in the administration of a collective bargaining agreement including grievance investigation, responses and participation in contract negotiations
- Experience in industrial manufacturing environment
Pay Range: $104,992.00 - $120,000.00
