Job Description Summary
Dauch is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Minerva, OH. This is fully onsite role.
The HR Generalist provides support to the plant in recruiting, administration, and training. This person will assist and support onboarding, payroll processing, attendance, and other related administrative responsibilities when needed. They will also make recommendations on associate issues, recruiting, turnover, and training.
This individual should have a positive attitude and excellent attention to detail, the ability to work in high-pressure and ambiguous situations with strict deadlines, and ability to work independently with minimal direction.
Job Description:
- Supports recruiting efforts: works with the HR Manager and plant team to formulate a staffing strategy plan including:
- Job Postings
- Job Fairs (internal and external)
- Sourcing and screening candidates
- Extending offers and pre-employment
- Leads new hire orientations and associate experience.
- Audits timeclock/payroll records for accuracy and sends them to Accounting for processing.
- Maintains daily associate attendance information.
- Records and updates associate information such as personal data, training, compensation, benefits, and termination dates/reasons.
- Maintains associate files, documents personnel actions, and provides information for payroll and other uses.
- Collects information and prepares special reports when required.
- Assists in maintaining the job posting system, including formulating the posting and keeping the communication board up to date.
- Produces required monthly reports as assigned.
- Assists in providing required new articles for plant newsletters.
- Learns the union contracts and uses the information to make decisions within the contract’s confines.
- Assists in the collection of data for audits.
- Keeps hourly skills matrix current.
- Communicates well with the plant team.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Education
- Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business Administration, or other relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- 1-4 years of Human Resources experience, including recruiting, payroll, associate documentation, and maintaining confidential information.
- Union experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Knowledge of Workday and Plex programs for Human Resources processes and timekeeping is preferred.
- Ability to adopt to a 3-shift work schedule as needed.
