Job Overview:

SUMMARY

The Human Resources Generalist supports day-to-day HR operations across the employee lifecycle, including payroll, benefits, employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, compliance, and employee programs. Working closely with the HR Director, this position independently manages assigned responsibilities and projects while partnering with employees and managers to provide practical, responsive HR support and help build scalable people practices that support

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support recruiting, onboarding, performance management, employee development, and other workforce needs across the employee lifecycle.

· Partner with employees and managers on employee relations, policy interpretation, workplace concerns, investigations, and performance issues using sound judgment, respect, and consistency.

· Administer payroll, benefits, leave programs, and employee services to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant delivery.

· Support union and labor relations, including contract administration, grievances, employee communications, and interactions with union employees and representatives.

· Maintain accurate HR systems, employee records, reporting, and workforce data while protecting confidentiality and data integrity.

· Support HR policies, compliance, training, employee communications, engagement, recognition, wellness, and company events.

· Prepare HR reporting and metrics that support workforce planning and business decisions.

· Contribute to HR technology, process improvement, organizational development, and other projects that strengthen HR capabilities and support company growth.

· Develop and maintain job descriptions, HR processes, documentation, and resources that improve consistency and operational effectiveness.

· Build collaborative relationships across the organization, respond to employee and manager needs, and take ownership of issues through resolution.

· Maintain knowledge of employment laws and HR practices to support compliance and continuous improvement.

· Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs and organizational priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

· Three or more years of progressive HR experience across multiple HR disciplines.

· Working knowledge of payroll, benefits, leave administration, employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and employment compliance.

· Experience conducting workplace investigations and applying policies and employment regulations with sound judgment.

· Experience with

· HRIS, payroll, ATS, or other HR technology platforms.

· Union or labor relations experience preferred.

· Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and project management skills.

· Ability to independently manage priorities and projects while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and follow-through.

· Bilingual English/Spanish skills are beneficial
