Job Overview:

For our Avenza Plant in Italy, we are looking forward to hiring a HSE lead. As HSE lead, you will support the Plant HSE manager in driving the HSE strategy and manage the day by day activity in the Plant to properly manage risks associated with operations and strengthen an interdependent and learning HSE culture. You will report to the Plant HSE manager, Avenza.

Essential Responsibilities

As the HSE lead, Avenza you will:

  • Support the HSE manager in implementing the set strategy to make it safer and more sustainable, partnering with operations supervisors and frontline workers
  • Help execute and contribute to a compelling communication plan to create a shared sense of accountability towards HSE performance and culture
  • Implement and drive improvements on emergency preparedness, safety risk assessments and safe working procedures, ergonomics, contractor safety, industrial hygiene, and crisis management
  • Manage and support risk assessment in many ways such as Local requirement defined by D. Lgs 81/08 (such as DVR, DUVRI), Job Safety Analysis, Management of Change and Highly Hazardous Operations (such as Lifting, and Process Safety)
  • Support the preparation and report-out on key HSE leading and lagging key performance indicators
  • Schedule and maintain site inspections by required dates
  • Maintain governmental compliance as related to HSE requirements and reporting (such as DUVRI)
  • Drive knowledge and conscious adoption of the latest Company policies and procedures
  • Proactively identify and act on opportunities to continuously improve

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Degree in HSE sciences, engineering or equivalent
  • 8-years of combined professional experience in HSE and/or operations
  • Technical preparation and professional knowledge on emergency preparedness, safety risk assessments and safe working procedures, construction safety, ergonomics, contractor safety, industrial hygiene; highly hazardous operations, complex lifting, pressure equipment
  • Knowledge of local HSE regulations and of most widely used international standards
  • Communication and Interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with your peers, manager, and workshop team
  • Inclusiveness and team working skills, ability to mediate among different teams you will interact with.
  • Availability to travel internationally
  • Fluent in Italian and English

Desired Characteristics:

  • RSPP or ASPP qualification
  • HSE experience in similar plant / construction yards in an international environment
  • Knowledge and practice of Process Safety
  • Knowledge and practice of Human Performance principles
