Manages plant safety and risk programs to ensure safe and accident-free work environment. Implements safety concepts to provide an accident-free workplace. Plans and/or delivers programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices. Promotes plant safety by working with all departments to analyze current situations and recommend safety improvements. Analyzes accident data to identify trends and accident types that can be prevented.

How you will make contributions that matter...

  • Responsible for all aspects of safety, including OSHA, Illness and Injury Prevention Program, SDS, safety audits, and accident investigations; work with other departments with workers’ compensation, Risk Management Plan and Process Safety Management, Bio-Security, Foreign Material Prevention.
  • Responsible for verifying new equipment/construction meets federal and state regulations.
  • Conduct and/or facilitate safety programs and OSHA required training and certifications; ie., forklift, confined space, lockout/tagout, and CPR/First Aid training; conduct fire drills; perform new hire and annual safety training. Support site crisis management program and support activities.
  • Reviews Incident Investigation Report to ensure completeness and that appropriate action is taken to prevent recurrence; Facilitates RCA’s for injuries and illnesses.
  • Support industrial injury/illness full life-cycle claim management.
  • Serves as or obtains safety expertise for the various plant functions in dealings with the OSHA; including updates to management on current laws and regulations.
  • Manage OSHA compliance, state and local regulatory compliance.

You are the best suited for this role if you...

  • Three (3) or more years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing setting, preferably food manufacturing, with major concentration of job duties relating to environmental, health and safety.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety Management, or in a related field, and/or the equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of Cal/OSHA regulations and Workers’ Compensation claim mitigation and management.
  • Hands on experience in successfully leading, coaching, motivating and developing a team environment within safety; strong communication skills, customer service skills and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification, or ability to obtain within 12-months of hire.
  • American Red Cross CPR/First-Aid certified, AMR Instructor certification preferred.
  • Available to work on all shifts (when needed) to resolve issues and/or evaluate employee environment.

Salary Range:

$85,370 - $106,715

Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.
