SUMMARY:
Acts as the company liaison for Union employees and the Company in HR related issues. Recruiting for Union positions and some non-union positions and related onboarding HR/Training processes. Assists Shop Managers writing performance reviews, performance improvement plans and tracking when they need to be completed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. __20__% of time. Provide administrative support to Plant Manager, HR Manager and Shop Managers.
2. __20__ % of time. Posting available openings per union contract and/or recruiting with various temporary agencies and online systems to identify potential new employees as directed by managers. Conduct new union employee orientation including explanation of all employment policies and safety requirements. Ensure that all new hire paperwork is completed and distributed for union employees.
3. __15__ % of time. Track union employee’s attendance. Enter absence slips and paid time-off requests. Issue attendance warnings to managers timely. Double check timecards for accuracy for payroll and attendance. Follow-up with Managers to determine the absence reason for missing time on union employee’s timecards. Initiates Perfect Attendance awards and calculated percent overtime worked monthly.
4. 15__ % of time. Assist shop managers with performance reviews, training, personal improvement plans and tracking when reviews are due and completed. Updating and maintaining training matrix for all union positions. Recommending and coordinating employee training program(s) for union positions. Assist the Safety Coordinator with any union employee worker’s compensation issues.
5. __10__ % of time. Act as the liaison between union employees and the company, answering employee questions regarding benefits, union contract, Attendance policy and company policies.
6. __10__% of time. Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, employment laws and regulations including labor laws and recommended best practices. Assists in reviews of policies and practices to maintain compliance.
7. __5__% of time. Attends and may participate in union employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
8. __5__% of time. Maintain and update shop employee’s personnel files.
9. __5__% of time. All other tasks assigned.
