Description

We are seeking a reliable, ethical, and empathetic HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team in a fast-paced plastic injection molding manufacturing environment. Reporting to the HR Manager, this role will support day-to-day HR functions for both office and plant employees, ensuring seamless execution of HR processes and upholding the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications


Essential Functions:

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.  This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, continual learning for retaining certifications.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing and facilitating the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for job opening.
  • Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries.
  • Assist and perform orientations.
  • Maintain strict compliance with I-9 verification, file audits, and record keeping standards.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee questions, ensuring clear communication of policies and procedures.
  • Partner with leadership to support employee relations while maintaining HR ethics and confidentiality.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed.
  • Assists with maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Partner with leadership to support employee relations while maintaining HR ethics and confidentiality.
  • Other tasks as assigned

Minimum Requirements

I.   Education and certifications

  • Required:   High school diploma
  • Required:    HR Associates Degree
  • Preferred:   Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or related field
  • Preferred:   HR Certification(s) PHR or SHRM-CP

II.  Work experience

  • Required:   2-3 years as a HR Generalist or related
  • Required:   Fluid computer skills with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
  • Required:   Must love animals
  • Preferred:   prior Manufacturing and/or recruiting experience

III. Job skills

  • Demonstrated communication, teamwork and organizational skills
  • Technical mathematical skills; the ability to multitask, work on several projects at the same time without losing the ability to complete them on time; communicate with other departments in a professional and respectful manner
  • To be able to perform daily tasks safely; To work independently with limited supervision
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them within a timely manner; Ability to make decisions with limited information
  • Walking and stair climbing is required within the office/shop areas. Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements. Must be able to walk, sit and occasionally climb and balance. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and move heavier objects in a safe manner using proper equipment. Must have dexterity with hands
