Position Summary
The HR Assistant supports the Human Resources department with a primary focus on full-cycle recruiting and talent acquisition while assisting with day-to-day HR administrative functions. This role is responsible for sourcing candidates, coordinating the hiring process, maintaining applicant records, and delivering an excellent candidate experience from initial contact through onboarding.
Responsibilities:
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition (Approximately 70%)
- Support full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions.
- Post job openings on company and external job boards.
- Source qualified candidates using job boards, social media, networking, and other recruiting tools.
- Review resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates.
- Conduct phone screenings and schedule interviews with hiring managers.
- Coordinate interview logistics and communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process.
- Maintain the applicant tracking system (ATS) and ensure candidate records are accurate and up to date.
- Prepare offer letters and coordinate pre-employment requirements, including background checks and drug screenings.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
- Attend job fairs, recruiting events, and community outreach activities to attract qualified candidates.
- Track recruiting metrics, including time-to-fill, candidate flow, and hiring activity.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruiting strategies.
Human Resources Support (Approximately 30%)
- Assist with new hire onboarding and orientation.
- Maintain employee personnel files and HR documentation.
- Process employment-related paperwork, including new hire, status change, and separation documentation.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Assist with benefits enrollment and HR administrative tasks.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information and company records.
- Support employee engagement activities and company events.
- Assist with HR reporting and compliance requirements.
- Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of recruiting or HR experience, with recruiting as a primary responsibility preferred.
- Experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruiting platforms.
- Strong interviewing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple open positions simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of employment laws and hiring best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing, distribution, or industrial recruiting experience.
- Experience with Indeed, LinkedIn, and other online recruiting platforms.
