Job Overview:

SUMMARY: 

Provides customer service in person, both internally and externally, assisting customers with selecting the best hose, fitting, or tubing product for their application. Fabricates finished hose and tube assemblies. Maintains hose area tools and equipment. Assists with warehouse functions.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Greets customers in person providing excellent service with hose, fittings, tubing and related products.
• Fabricates hose and tubing assemblies according to specification, creating high quality and safe products.
• Performs quality checks and testing on finished assemblies when required.
• Pulls hose, fitting, and tubing products as required to complete customer orders.
• Accurately enters and processes quotes and sales orders into Trulinx.
• Maintains hose assembly area: ensures a clean, organized, and safe environment.
• Maintains hose and tubing equipment, ensuring regular maintenance is performed and reporting any irregularities to supervisor immediately.
• Occasionally and with direction, removes, replaces, and installs finished hose and tubing assemblies on equipment.
• Is prepared to work overtime when required.
• Assists other departments with pulling orders or general customer service when required.
• Participates in all company/department safety and training programs.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• High School diploma or equivalent and preferably one to two years of related experience. 

• Good customer service skills; customer service experience preferred. 

• Proficiency using measuring tools, both imperial and metric, including tape measure and calipers. 

• Proficiency using hand tools and, with training, hose and tubing power equipment. 

• Proficiency with soldering and brazing techniques, with training, using oxygen and acetylene torches for both steel and aluminum applications.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow, ability to follow up on tasks independently. 

• Solid oral communication skills. 

• Accurate data entry. 

• Attention to detail and commitment to following proper procedures and company safety policies. 

• Knowledge of warehouse operations best practices. 

• Commitment to excellence and high standards. 

• Proficiency in TruLinX. 

• Positive and cooperative attitude that contributes to HCI’s employee-owner culture and shared responsibility at all levels for our company’s success. 

• Bilingual skills a plus.

• Continually required to wear personal protective equipment including safety boots and safety classes.
• Frequently required to utilize hand tools and operate power equipment.
• Frequently required to utilize visual acuity to read and/or use a keyboard, tools, and equipment.
• Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items less than 50 pounds.
• Required to request warehouse assistance to lift any product over 50 pounds. 

• General environment is shop/warehouse with brief periods in office.
