We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Horticulturist to join our team.

J.W. Jung Seed Company is an industry leader in mail-order and retail gardening. Jung Seed Company ships thousands of quality seeds, plants and gardening accessories to all 50 states. We have six garden centers in the state of Wisconsin with our corporate headquarters stationed in Randolph, WI.

As our Staff Horticulturist, you will be responsible for:

• Providing customer support for questions about plant culture, diagnosing problems, soil amendments, region-specific variety recommendations, pest control, and other topics. Questions primarily consist of more challenging topics not easily answered by our customer service staff.
• Assist our catalog department with maintaining up to date products and information
• Write descriptions of our products for the catalogs and websites
• Track industry trends
• Recommend new items for each catalog line
• Analyze sales data

How do you know you will be a great Horticulturist on our team? If you have:

• A strong background in horticulture and knowledge of a diverse range of plants, plant pathology, and integrated pest management methods. Experience and knowledge of annual vegetable plant culture and orchard fruits is a plus.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture or a related field is preferred. A combination of education and work experience will be considered.
• The ability to work independently and be self-directed in researching answers to questions and developing creative ways to present information to our customers.
• A working knowledge of Microsoft Office software is required.
• Stellar written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent critical thinking skills
