We are seeking an experienced CNC Horizontal Mill Operator who takes pride in producing high-quality precision components. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate horizontal milling machines to produce precision-machined components
- Ensure proper machine alignment, calibration, tooling, and workholding for each job
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, specifications, and work instructions
- Verify product quality using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and CMMs
- Maintain tight tolerances and ensure all components meet customer specifications
- Perform routine machine maintenance and tooling adjustments to maximize productivity
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary offsets or corrections
- Follow all safety procedures while operating machinery, power tools, and hand tools
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements and reducing waste
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating and setting up CNC Horizontal Milling Machines
- Strong blueprint reading and mechanical drawing interpretation skills
- Experience using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and dial indicators
- Ability to interpret and apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Knowledge of machining practices, tooling, feeds, speeds, and cutting techniques
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CMM inspection equipment
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
- Experience machining complex components in a production environment
