EHC is seeking a Hole Watch / Confined Space Attendant for a Client in the Livingston Area

Position Overview

The Hole Watch Attendant is responsible for ensuring the safety of personnel working in and around confined spaces. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a safe work environment by monitoring confined space entries, maintaining communication with workers, and responding appropriately to potential hazards or emergency situations. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, attentive, and capable of remaining focused throughout the duration of assigned shifts.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and control the entry and exit of personnel entering confined spaces.
Maintain accurate entry logs and verify that workers are properly trained and equipped before entering a confined space.
Continuously monitor atmospheric conditions using gas detection equipment.
Maintain clear and consistent communication with workers inside confined spaces.
Immediately notify personnel of unsafe conditions and initiate evacuation procedures when necessary.
Contact emergency response personnel in the event of an emergency.
Prevent unauthorized personnel from accessing restricted or confined space work areas.
Remain stationed at the assigned entry point for the duration of the watch with no additional duties assigned during this period.
Ensure compliance with all site safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Previous Confined Space Attendant, Hole Watch, or related safety experience preferred.
Confined Space Entry and Safety Attendant training preferred.
Strong communication skills and situational awareness.
Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods.
Ability to work in industrial environments and adhere to strict safety standards.
Physically capable of standing for extended periods, climbing ladders, and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Must successfully pass a drug screening and background check.
Valid TWIC card required.
First Aid/CPR, OSHA, and/or HAZWOPER certifications are a plus.

Physical Requirements

Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift.
Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
Ability to climb, bend, stoop, and navigate industrial job sites.
Must be able to wear and work in required PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and respiratory protection when required.
