Job Overview:

Job Summary: The Final Assembler finishes assembling units and prepares for shipment to customers. The Final Assembler receives specific work assignments under limited supervision and resolves most problems with limited supervisory assistance. All work is subject to final inspection and test to ensure that the final product meets customer requirements and to control excess labor and material expense. The Assembler III is expected to practice and adhere to the Company’s Six Sigma principles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following with other duties assigned as necessary:

  • Reviews job orders (written or verbal).
  • Lays out final assembly components to insure proper build.
  • Fits structural components to radiator assemblies by:
  • Inspects product for defects.
  • Cleans and maintains work area (daily), radiator side equipment and other tools of the trade.
  • Works in a safe manner at all times.
  • Ensure that all work is done in accordance with and adheres to IEA’s ISO and Quality standards.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties.

Physical Demands:

  • Maximum lifting requirement (pounds): 100 (infrequently), 50 (occasionally), 25 (frequently).
  • Maximum moving requirement (pounds): 300 with assistance.
  • Maintaining physical condition necessary for the following: Frequent standing, walking, climbing, crouching, stooping, squatting, and twisting upper body; infrequent sitting.
  • Working at heights off the ground up to 20 feet.
  • Vision requirements: Close, distance, and peripheral vision; depth perception.

Work Environment:

  • Work location: Metal fabrication/assembly shop and indoor/outdoor storage areas.
  • Exposure to: Fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts/equipment including overhead cranes, sharp/heavy materials, inclement weather.
  • Personal protective equipment requirement: Safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoes.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • Forklift Licensed
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Blueprint Reading
