Job Title: Heavy Industrial Worker

Location: Shreveport/Bossier City

Pay Rate: $16 - $20 per hour (Based on Experience)

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Description:

We are currently hiring dependable, hardworking individuals throughout the Shreveport/Bossier City area to fill a variety of Heavy Industrial Worker positions. Opportunities are available in production, fabrication, machining, welding, quality control, equipment maintenance, material handling, and facility maintenance.

These positions are ideal for dependable individuals with previous industrial or manufacturing experience who enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced environment. Successful candidates are safety-minded, mechanically inclined, and committed to producing quality work while meeting production goals.

Key Responsibilities (Grouped by Position):

Assembly & Production

  • Assemble products and components using hand and power tools.
  • Read blueprints, work orders, and production specifications.
  • Inspect completed assemblies to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Package, label, and prepare finished products for shipment.

Quality Control

  • Inspect raw materials, in-process parts, and finished products.
  • Measure parts using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Identify defects and document quality concerns.
  • Verify products meet customer and company specifications.

Welding & Fabrication

  • Perform MIG, TIG, Stick, or other welding processes based on project requirements.
  • Read blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings.
  • Grind, fit, and prepare materials for welding.
  • Inspect completed welds for quality and accuracy.

**Machine Operator **

  • Set up, operate, and monitor production equipment such as presses, CNC machines, mills, lathes, molding equipment, and other industrial machinery.
  • Make minor machine adjustments to maintain production quality.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report mechanical issues.
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.

Mechanical & Maintenance

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial equipment and machinery.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Replace worn or damaged mechanical components.
  • Assist with facility maintenance and equipment repairs.

**Building & Facility Maintenance **

  • Perform general building repairs and preventative maintenance.

  • Complete light plumbing, basic HVAC maintenance, fixture replacement, and facility upkeep.

  • Paint surfaces, structures, and equipment as needed.

  • Ensure the facility remains clean, safe, and functional.

Material Handling

  • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Load, unload, move, and stage materials throughout the facility.
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, and inventory control.

Qualifications

  • Previous industrial, manufacturing, construction, fabrication, or mechanical experience is required.
  • Two or more years of industrial or manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to safely operate hand and power tools are required.
  • Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, work orders, or technical drawings is preferred, depending on the position.
  • Forklift experience is a plus for applicable positions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environments that may be hot, noisy, dusty, or non-climate controlled.
  • Ability to safely wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves.
