2nd shift hours 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM; occasional weekends may be required

Job Summary

The Heavy Equipment Operator promotes safe and efficient operation of all equipment associated with the material processing facility(MPF). Heavy equipment includes, but is not limited to: excavator, skid steer, front end loader, backhoe, telehandler and forklift etc.

Position Responsibilities:

• Receive and process materials, through the safe operation of various types of industrial equipment, material handling equipment, conveyor systems, and various hand tools
• Traffic Control for incoming/outgoing traffic
• Assist facility mechanic(s) with equipment repairs; taking appropriate action on their own initiative to prevent equipment damage or personnel injury.
• Maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping, performing preventative maintenance tasks, assisting with, and performing minor equipment repair work, handling alternative fuel(AEF), municipal solid waste, solid waste residue and waste water in accordance with standard operating procedures, and painting and cleaning as required.

Position Requirements & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
• A minimum of 1 year experience operating industrial heavy equipment such as Excavator and Front -end Loader

Physical Demands of the Role:

• Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
• Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
• Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
• Consistently work in various weather conditions
