We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heavy Equipment Operator to join a construction team in Newport News, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for operating various types of heavy machinery to support our construction and maintenance projects. Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, and backhoes safely and efficiently.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects on time and within budget.
• Assist in site preparation, grading, and excavation tasks as required.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance activities.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to management promptly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience operating heavy equipment in a construction or industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to heavy machinery operation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical stamina and strength to handle the demands of the job.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
