Pay: $23- $26 an hour depending on experience

Hours: 6am - 5pm Monday - Friday. Open to working 55-60 hour work weeks

JOB SUMMARY

Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator at our Boone Quarry West in Columbia, MO. This position is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to move material within the plant.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate in safety programs and trainings, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture
• Inspect equipment for signs of wear
• Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment
• Work in a team environment
• Clean work areas
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Proper wear of personal protective equipment
• Notify supervisors of repairs needed
• Ensure materials are properly loaded according to safety requirements
• Assist in plant maintenance and repairs
• Perform duties with minimum supervision

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• 1+ years of related experience
• Valid US driver’s license

Skills:

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of MSHA regulations
• Effective verbal communication
• Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use and maintenance

Physical Abilities

• Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round
• General physical activities include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reach with hands and arms, and handling material
