**Job Summary:
• The Mechanic services asphalt pavers, rollers, dump trucks, brooms, various other asphalt paving and equipment, and concrete mixers. This includes resolution of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. They i
nspect, repair, service and maintain gasoline, diesel powered and electronically operated mobile equipment. Skilled in mechanical diagnosis, maintenance and repair qualifying them to work on vehicles and heavy equipment.
***Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Repairs and maintains asphalt paving and concrete equipment;
Operates and inspects equipment to diagnose defects;
Dismantles equipment, machines to gain access to problem area;
Repairs malfunctioning hydraulic components;
Diagnoses and correct electrical problems;
Welds, cuts and fabricates equipment and components;
Changes oil, etc., checks and changes batteries;
Performs preventative maintenance;
Breaks down and reinstalls tires;
Makes recommendations for equipment to be repaired by outside sources;
Requisitions parts and equipment;
Schedules maintenance and tracks equipment maintenance costs;
Record keeping and reporting;
Provides general housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe facility;
Creates work orders;
Performs computer diagnostics;
Wears required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times;
Performs other duties as required or assigned.
