Heavy Duty Diesel Technician Requirements:

• 4 + Years of Repair Experience working on Medium/Heavy Trucks (Class 4–8), Municipal/Public Works Vehicles/Equipment required
• Own tools required
• Diagnostic / Troubleshooting experience required
• Basic Computer Skills or Fleet Software experience required
• CDL B required
• 1 ASE (Medium/Heavy Truck) OR able to obtain within 90 days required
• Willing to ObtainDOT Med Card (Within 6 Months) preferred
• Road tests, PM, and Diag/Repair preferred
• Experience with Work, Service or Part Ordering/Documentation preferred

Responsibilities of Heavy Duty Diesel Technician:

• This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 4–8 trucks and fleet vehicles in both shop and field settings for a municipal operation
• Responsibilities include working on commercial vehicles such as box trucks and tractor-trailers, performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and major repairs on engines, air/hydraulic brakes, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Additional duties include handling roadside repairs and mobile service, conducting road tests, and completing work orders and documentation
• Use diagnostic tools to test vehicle components
• As a diesel technician you will work in a clean safe environment

You should be proficient in:

• DOT Medical Card
• ASE Automobile and Light Truck Certification Tests
• Diesel & Heavy Equipment Systems
• Current CDL License
