Position Overview

We are hiring a Heavy Civil Superintendent with 5+ years of superintendent experience to lead field operations across heavy civil projects. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong planning and problem‑solving skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and an unwavering commitment to safety. This role supervises multiple crews and subcontractors to deliver projects on schedule, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct field crews and supervisors to complete work safely and productively.

  • Enforce safety standards and produce weekly safety reports.

  • Provide forepersons with tools, materials, and information needed to perform tasks correctly.

  • Monitor subcontractor progress and manage budget and schedule expectations.

  • Interpret project specifications, plans, and survey data for assigned work items.

  • Track productivity and job costs and review job cost reports.

  • Implement QA/QC processes to ensure high quality of work.

  • Maintain document control for submittals, material tracking, and required paperwork.

  • Respond proactively to site conditions and unforeseen challenges.

  • Manage manpower needs and coordinate with project stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of heavy civil construction experience with demonstrated superintendent responsibility.

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements, industry best practices, equipment, and QA/QC.

  • Ability to manage fast‑paced, changing schedules and priorities.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Comfortable leading teams and coordinating field operations.

  • Local travel: Southeastern PA & NJ

  • OSHA 10‑Hour or 30‑Hour certification required.
