Job Overview:

Description

Basic Function:

 

Training   in the Heat Treat function under certified HT Operator. Will safely learn to perform   Heat Treat function which includes separating & organizing furnace   processing, completion of logs; analysis, interpretation of data and input to   computer programs. Responsible for productivity & movement of parts in   and out of the department.


Responsibilities:

  • Accurate scanning in and out on jobs and the proper reporting of processed quantities.
  • Wear proper safety equipment; keep work area clean and safe at all times
  • Understand customer requirements, our companies internal scrap challenges, rework, customer returns, the impact they have on your job and demonstrate ability to deliver quality & efficient workmanship
  • Review & inspect all material being used, building self-inspection into everything you make/process
  • Learn process to complete, date, and sign-off on all routing information:  MUST have Heat Treat Operator Lev 2 review, sign or co-sign all trainee process documentation
  • Perform job tasks in an efficient manner according to given standards
  • Learn heat treat work by alloy’s, process & time specification requirements; process work under supervision
  • Match & verify traveler tickets to castings, distribute castings to next department after processing: HT Lev 2 operator must approve next step movement of castings
  • Read & understand heat treat specifications, procedures, & work instructions
  • Learn to appropriately log alloy and temperature readings; demonstrate performance of task
  • Maintain/complete log sheets & learn dashboard system for entering data
  • Learn weekly & monthly audit requirements of probe checks (SAT) of temperature set-points on Furnace, Quench Tank, and Load T/Cs and accuracy tests on furnace controllers; CO2 gas verifications
  • Understand inventory of carbon dioxide and all other supplies; perform task under supervision
  • Learn & demonstrate appropriate racking of castings prior to heat treat
  • Maintain organization & cleanliness of heat treat area & equipment; Perform duties safely
  • Read and understand SP100 procedures and AMS2750 standards


Skills:

Self-starter, independent worker, computer skills for entering numbers & data


Education/Training:

Must be able to pass (2-year) certification requirements after completion of on-the-job training


Experience:

Knowledge of castings, part numbers & route tickets a plus
